Visit of the delegation from the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy of the OCU to the spiritual sanctuaries of Greece.

A delegation of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy visited the Philofeus Monastery (Greek: Μονή Φιλοθέου) on the Holy Mount Athos, which occupies the twelfth place in the Svyatohoris hierarchy. Located on the northeastern coast of the Aion-Oros peninsula, near the Caracal Monastery.

The Philofey Monastery was founded in the 11th century by Saint Philofey. The cathedral is dedicated in honor of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Together with the delegation of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy, they visited the Xenophon Monastery (Greek: Μονή Ξενοφύντος) on the Holy Mount Athos, which occupies the sixteenth place in the Svyatohoris hierarchy. Located on the west coast of the Aion Oros peninsula, half an hour's walk from the monastery of Dohiar and 3.5 hours from Karies.

In this monastery, at the end of 2018, the monk-calligrapher Luka created the original Tomos on granting the autocephalous system to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The monastery was founded in 998 by Xenophon, after whom the monastery got its name.

The main temple of the monastery (kapholikon), known for its marble iconostasis, is dedicated to the holy great martyr George the Victorious.

In the kafolikon of the monastery there are two miraculous icons: the Mother of God and the holy great martyr George. The Xenophon Monastery keeps parts of the relics of many saints.
